When editing an existing audio file or creating a new file, this software to help you out. You could pay a bundle for a professional program, but Audacity is freeware that is awesome. The best part is the creators have provided it for FREE.

It may not look like much, but it has a bundle of high-quality features.
It does basic recording and editing with ease. You can record audio from a microphone, or streaming audio. You will be able to cut out dead air or mix two files together.
